Easy-peasy ride into Moura – though there was one ginormous hill to conquer – and I scooted in by 1pm. Once again, in my delicate psychological state I found I needed another treat day, and so I opted for a motel unit, this one at the Moura Meridian being a bit swanky, though at a heavily-discounted rate ($130) “…’cause all the reps go home on weekends” (it being a mining town). But if I thought I’d be rocking into Moura and hitting the town on a Friday night, I was sadly mistaken. It was completely dead by 6pm and I had Chinese in front of the tele back in my room. Ah well.
The nice lady at the Post Office was very helpful to me in despatching back home for me two, 4.5kg parcels of excess baggage – didn’t feel the need for all that cold-weather gear anymore.
