Day 19 Route Map
Once I’d somehow or other organically made that decision (to “head east, young man”!) my mood picked up considerably – funny creatures, aren’t we? – and in the crisp morning air I didn’t even mind the hard uphill slog for the first 50km, and then the long downhill run into the Shell servo at Bauhinia Downs was a real treat. The temperature had risen to the mid-to high 20s by the time I arrived at noon. I decided to camp there the night – the owner allows camping round the back and there were already several grey nomad couples parked up in their caravans. A strong headwind picked up in the afternoon, so just as well I stopped.
